Les Peach is a pure abstract artist, a passionate painter whose frequent source of inspiration is his other great love……opera
Born
in the Brighton suburb of Melbourne, Les completed a Diploma of Fine Arts at
R.M.I.T. in the late 60’s. before
undertaking a two year study and painting journey throughout Europe, primarily
London and Paris.
Returning
to Australia he established himself as a full time artist in the 70’s, Les
found the market for fine abstract art was virtually non-existent, undaunted he
continued his passion for abstract painting – composing his works like a
musician or theatre director – always to the sound of his favourite operas
echoing across his studio.
As
Australia’s interest in abstract art became the norm, so Les found a growing
demand and interest in his work. Having
had a complete sellout of 50 paintings at Qdos, Lorne in the summer of 2000,
Les has never looked back.
His
work features in an increasing number of corporate and private collections and
the interest in his works is fast spreading throughout Australia.
